Wildfire Preparedness
The first step in wildfire preparedness is creating a defensible space around your home. A defensible space consist of three landscaping zones that can evade the danger of a wildfire from spreading onto your property. For more information on how to establish a defensible space click here.
In the event of an evacuation you will need to leave immediatley. Before a wildfire hits our District make sure to put together and emergency supply kit, this kit should contain:
- Water- 1 gallon per person per day (3 day supply)
- Ready- to-eat food (3 day supply)
- Prescription and non-prescription medication
- Dust mask or cotton t-shirt to filter air
- A complete change of clothes, including sturdy shoes
- Toiletries
- Important documents-(Insurance policies, ID, Bank accounts, Passport)

Just like you, your pet needs an emergency supply kit. This should include:
- Vaccination records
- Medications
- Special needs documentation
- Copies of ownership records
- Microchip paperwork
- Leash, harness, and collars
- Photos with your pet
- Pet food, treats, and water
