Wildfire Preparedness 

The first step in wildfire preparedness is creating a defensible space around your home. A defensible space consist of three landscaping zones that can evade the danger of a wildfire from spreading onto your property. For more information on how to establish a defensible space click here.

In the event of an evacuation you will need to leave immediatley. Before a wildfire hits our District make sure to put together and emergency supply kit, this kit should contain:

  • Water- 1 gallon per person per day (3 day supply)
  • Ready- to-eat food (3 day supply)
  • Prescription and non-prescription medication
  • Dust mask or cotton t-shirt to filter air
  • A complete change of clothes, including sturdy shoes
  • Toiletries
  • Important documents-(Insurance policies, ID, Bank accounts, Passport)

May contain: backpack, water, face mask, clothes, paper, pill bottle, food

Just like you, your pet needs an emergency supply kit. This should include:

  • Vaccination records
  • Medications
  • Special needs documentation
  • Copies of ownership records
  • Microchip paperwork
  • Leash, harness, and collars
  • Photos with your pet
  • Pet food, treats, and water
